Company History
MRF, Inc. was started in 1961 by Mario R. Franceschini, Sr.
as an engineer and manufacturer's representative of Boiler equipment and instrumentation,
he provided this equipment to the island wide sugar cane industry that operated at the
time, and the petrochemical complex that was emerging in the late sixties on the south
coast of PR. In 1971, MRF saw the rising development of the pharmaceutical industry
all over the island and the need to shift industry focus to FDA regulated,
chemical/pharmaceutical processes. In 1975, the Power Gen / T&D Group was formed with
Mario Jr. as manager trainee in addition to assisting his father in all of the MRF
business operation. Continued growth led to the expansion of a larger warehousing
operation and the addition of key personnel to our sales force like Raul Mariani and Eloy
Acosta. In 1986, MRF was honored with the PR Manufacturers Association Best Local
Supplier Award for meritorious service to local industries. Sales & Service growth has
continued with the addition of Control Systems integration and Turn-Key Contracting
capabilities.
In the 1990's, local and federal Tax exempt limitations have continued to reduce
industrial plant expansions and MRF focus has shifted from projects &
expansions, to the MRO expenditures and automation/optimization options among our
strategic industries and utilities. Within the last six years the MRF Technical
Services Group has provided additional value to our customers in the areas
of control
systems integration, calibration and maintenance, and power quality studies. Facing the
21th Century of Global integration, MRF continues to innovate through value added
Technical Services for Total Customer Satisfaction.
