ASCO™ Series 158 Valve & Series 159 Motorized Actuator

ASCO Series 158 Gas Valve and Series 159 Motorized Actuator deliver

the highest flow rate on the market with a reduced footprint

ASCO™ Safety Shut-Off Valves for gas burners (Series 158 and 159) have been tested following the stringent EN13611 & EN161 procedure using 100% H2 as a media. All tests were passed successfully with 0 leakages. Series 158/159's superior flow factor combined with a higher-pressure tolerance than the competition makes it the right product to allow the transition from Natural Gas to Hydrogen as a fuel for Industrial Burners.

ASCO™ 158 Valve Bodies for Motorized Actuators The ASCO Series 158 Single and Monoblock valve bodies are a 2-way normally closed gas safety shut-off valve designed for use with the ASCO Series 159 Motorized Actuator. When coupled with the Series 159 actuator, this system meets global approvals with certifications from UL, FM, CSA and EN161. Specifically designed for burner applications, these new products give OEMs, distributors, contractors and end-users a new combustion safety shut-off valve option that increases safety and reliability and enhances heat output.

Features:

  • Optimized high flow design (15.4 to 145.8 CV, 13.3 to 126.1 Kv) and broad operating pressure differential (0 to 20 psi - 0 to 1.4 bar) covers a wide range of applications

  • Monoblock construction allows for easy installation and reduces footprint

  • Broad ambient temperature range suitable for hot (150° F/66° C) or frigid (-40° F/-40° C) environments

  • 3/4'' to 3'' NPT / 20mm- 80mm ISO

  • Pipe adapters are available to simplify installation and service

  • Flexible multi-poise field mounting allows installation in any orientation

  • UL Listed, FM Approved, CSA Certified

  • EN161 Class A certified and compliance with RoHS directives

ASCO™ Series 159 Motorized Actuator The ASCO Series 159 Motorized Actuator is offered in On/Off and High/Low/Off construction. The motorized actuator is a self-contained, electrohydraulic linear actuator featuring dual internal control valves for repeatable positioning. When the actuator is mounted to a Series 158 valve, position indicators on both sides of the actuator show the open or closed position of the valve. The Series 159 Motorized Actuator and Series 158 gas valve combination provide a globally approved safety shut-off solution for a wide range of applications including boilers, furnaces, ovens, dryers, incinerators, thermal oxidizers and other heating systems

Features:

  • Broad ambient temperature range suitable for hot (150° F/66° C) or frigid (-40° F/-40° C) environments

  • Slow- or fast-opening constructions make it suitable for a variety of applications

  • Type 1 & IP10 General Purpose enclosure standard, optional Type 4 & IP65 Watertight enclosure available for outdoor or indoor wash down installations

  • Rugged construction ensures high reliability and durability

  • Visual indication of valve open & closed position is standard

  • Optional electrical interlock proof of closure switch is available

  • Mountable in any position for installation flexibility

  • UL Listed, FM Approved, CSA Certified

  • EN161 class A certified, ROHS directive

Compact footprint and modular design

• Compact valve design and monoblock option significantly reduces fuel train length— this will reduce the spatial footprint and make it suitable for space restrictive and retrofit applications

• Modular design allows customers the flexibility to configure gas trains to fit their exact needs

• Various options are available (visual indication, proof of closure, seal type, enclosure integrity and others)

• Flexible field mounting – multipoise design allows customers to install our valves in many orientations

• Offered with NPT/ISO vent port and pipe taps

Reduce cost of ownership— installation time and effort

• Customers can utilize flange adapters to simplify mounting (no pipe unions required)

• End connections simplify valve removal

• Increase labor savings by 50% - only 1 person is needed to install

• Up to 25% less weight than competitors

The Series 158 and Series 159 meet up-to-date National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), UL, Canadian Standards Association (CSA) and FM Global standards and have earned Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHs) and European Standards (EN) approvals.
